How to use

The most basic of basics

You won't be able to use most of the functions of “Wake Me Up Asuna” when the network is disconnected. Please check your connectivity before using the app.

Basic Functions (Alarm Clock Mode)

These are the basic functions and settings for“Wake Me Up Asuna”.

After installing the app, perform these settings following the character's guidance.

1. Entering your information

- Tap MENU →“Settings (e.g. personal information, area, garbage collection schedule)”.
- Enter information such as your name※*, nickname, birthday*, and location.
After you have entered the information, tap the button on the upper right to close the dialog box.

Items marked by * are required.
※You can change the accent of your name spoken by Asuna. If you feel that her accent is a bit weird, you can adjust it on this screen.

2. Setting times for waking up and leaving home

- Open the MENU and tap the “Edit” button on the right side of “Wake-up Time”. Tap each “Edit” button on the right side of “Alarm”and “Snooze” to set the time for the alarm and snooze, and then tap the “Set” button. The alarm will go off at the time you set.
・- The procedure is the same for setting the “Time to Leave” alarm. Set the time you plan to leave the house.
“Message” will show “__ minutes left before it's time to leave!”as a reminder before the set time. The app will also remind you of the things you need to carry with you.

3. Setting alarms by the day of the week

- You can set a time for waking up and leaving home for each day of the week.

*If you change the time using “TALK”, the alarm for the corresponding day will be changed. For example, when you say “Wake me up tomorrow at 6:00” on a Tuesday night, the alarm for Wednesday morning will be changed.

NOTE

This app does not in any way guarantee to wake you up in the morning. The app may not start correctly depending on the specifications of your smartphone or other apps. The app will not be able to wake you up if the volume is turned down, the network is disconnected or the battery power is drained.

You can also set the alarm time using “TALK” on the top screen by saying “Wake me up tomorrow at XX:XX!”.

Talk Mode

Press the “TALK” button on the screen to start Talk Mode.
Let's try asking Asuna some questions.

1. Talking to Asuna

Press the “TALK” button on the main screen. After the melody, you can start talking to Asuna. Try asking simple questions such as "what time is it?".

Wake Me Up Asuna will answer many of your other questions. For details, see “List of Commands”.
*It may take a few seconds to answer.Please be patient.

Examples of conversations

- “What's the weather like in Tokyo today?”→ Asuna will give information on the weather.
However, she can only provide weather information for the next three days.
- “Who are you?”→ Asuna will introduce herself.
- “What's my schedule today?”→ Asuna will tell you your schedule based on your Google Calendar.
Wake Me Up Asuna will answer many of your other questions.

2. Changing the alarm time by talking

You can change the alarm time for tomorrow by pressing the “TALK” button.
- If you press “TALK” and say, “Wake me up tomorrow at XX:XX”, Asuna will reply, “Is it okay if I set the alarm to XX:XX?” to confirm your instructions.
After the melody, you can say, “Yes” to set the alarm at the specified time, or “No” to cancel.

Tips for replying to Asuna

You can reply to Asuna if she asks you a question such as, “Is it okay if I...?”. Say “Yes” or “No” after the melody.
*Asuna won't be able to hear you if you talk to her before the melody. Please reply after you hear the melody.

3. Setting/Help

If you want to show Settings or Help, press “TALK” and “Settings” or “TALK” and “Help”. Each screen will be displayed.

Other Settings

Setting Wake Me Up Asuna's other useful functions

1. What to take with you tomorrow

- MENU →“What to take with you tomorrow”
Enter the things you need to take tomorrow or every morning.
Asuna will remind you to take those things when you wake up or when you're about to leave.
Examples: Company ID, keys, or books you borrowed

Even with the English language pack Asuna can only speak Japanese.

2. Garbage collection day

- Tap MENU →“Settings (e.g. personal information, area, garbage collection schedule)”.
This setting reminds you to take out the garbage in the morning. If you set the garbage type to be collected for each particular day, Asuna will remind you of that when she wakes you up.

3. Confirming your schedule for the next day the night before

Wake Me Up Asuna will remind you of your schedule for the next day at the time you specify. It is recommended to set this reminder to shortly before you go to bed.

*If you don't set this, there won't be any conversations at night.

4. What Asuna says

You can set what Wake Me Up Asuna will say automatically at the specified time (for example, when you wake up). If you leave this setting on Default, Asuna will say everything that you have set.

5. Wallpaper settings

You can change the wallpaper for the main screen. For example, if you change the wallpaper to a photo of your room and look at it when you are away from home, you'll feel as if Asuna is right there in your room.

The photo will always be center-aligned. If you want to change the display position, please use a photo editing app.

Change Costume

Have fun changing the character's costume!

1. Changing your character's costume

- Press “TALK”. Each time you say “Change costume”, her costume will be changed by turns to something you have in your collection.

2. Buying costumes for your character

- To buy a costume for Asuna, press “TALK” and say “I'll buy you clothes”. A list of costumes will be displayed. You can buy costumes displayed with a black border. New costumes are added to the list occasionally.
Asuna will be delighted with your present of new clothes.

About the English language pack

There is an English language pack for this app available for English speaking users. The English language pack must be purchased separately.

The English language packadds the following three features to this app.

Note: Even with the English language pack Asuna can only speak Japanese.

1. English language menus

All menus can be displayed in English.

2. English subtitles

Asuna’s dialogue can be displayed with English subtitles.

Note: Bedtime stories are currently unsupported.

3. Asuna can understand English

When the Voice Recognition Language is set to English, Asuna will be able to understand English when using the [TALK] button to speak to her and respond to what you have said (*Asunacan only respond in Japanese).

* For example, if you say “Good morning”Asuna will be able to understand your English and respond back to you "O-ha-yo".

Note: This feature uses Google Voice.

How to use the English language pack

Go to MENU , then Language/Background Settings, and from Language Settings purchase the English language pack . After that, select English for the menu, subtitles and Voice Recognition Language settings.
